There are two reports on eBird of Gray Jay from the Salt Lake City Cemetery
this past week. Not sure what to make of this, and the observers may not
know the importance of such a find, as this would be an ASTOUNDING find for
the county, where I don't believe there is even a record for this species.
Does anyone know anything about these sightings and is there and
documentation for this find, photos would be fantastic?
Gray Jay breed and are found less than 50 miles (maybe even closer) away in
the wester edge of the Uinta Mountains, but for some odd reason, do not
inhabit the Wasatch front despite what would seem like appropriate habitat.
Cheers,
Tim
