Great New Years day for me, riding with Bill Fenimore, Jim Mateski, Ruby and Lynn Hurst. We found lots of birds!
Doug
Location: Antelope Island
Observation date: 1/1/09
Notes: This was the CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT for the Wasatch Audubon Society at Antelope Island (south of fence). Most significant bird was a VARIED THRUSH, seen by dozens, at Garr Ranch. The area covered was from the north fence of Antelope Island to the south end. Of the 16 Bald Eagles, 7 were adults, and 9 were juveniles. The Golden Eagle was a second year juvenile. Juncos were of the Oregon subspecie. Count was led by naturalist Crystal Guinevere and Bill Fenimore. Incredibly fun day!
