I went to Farmington Bay today hoping to find the Iceland Gull, but did
not have any luck on that front. I did find 2 Glaucous Gulls and one
Glaucous-winged Gull. The most surprising sighting was a lone Sandhill
Crane flying overhead. There were several dozens of people out on
airboats (I guess getting it out of their system for the year), and they
kept chasing the birds. Afterwards I went up to Huntsville to look for
Crossbills. It was pretty quiet (just before noon), but after a lot of
searching, I was able to locate one White-winged Crossbill, although I
heard probably 3-4. Thanks Kris for posting the ebird article - I knew
what to listen for!

Cheers,
Tom
