Hi all,
I'm back in town for a couple of days, and I spent yesterday in Broads Fork
(Big Cottonwood Canyon), up and over Twin Peaks and then down Deaf Smith
Canyon (all Salt Lake County). Bird highlights included an AMERICAN DIPPER
at the S-curve in Big Cottonwood Canyon, a calling PINE GROSBEAK, several
MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES, a couple small flocks of PINE SISKEN, GOLDEN-CROWNED
KINGLETS and at least 2 singing BROWN CREEPERS between the trailhead and the
beaver ponds in Broad's Fork. No birds were observed in upper Broads Fork,
Twin Peaks and a fairly substantial way down Deaf Smith Canyon. I heard 1
STELLAR'S JAY in Deaf Smith Canyon...their numbers seem to be low this year
in the mountains and obviously there very few, if any, in the valley...just
interesting.
My computer is busted so I don't have photos to post, but my friend put some
up at...

Some beautiful country for Jeff Bilsky to explore...
