For our GBBC observation, my son Kendall and I went up to Alta--the
Rosy-finches did not disappoint! Amidst light snowfall, they were out in
abundance at the curve in the bypass road just east of the Ben Hame home (at
a feeder on back deck of a condo, easily observed from the road). Both
Black and Gray-crowned were present, mixing with a large flock of Pine
Siskins. Estimated around 100 Siskins, and 50-60 Rosy-finches. Also saw
Red-breasted Nuthatches, Mountain Chickadees, a single Cassin's Finch (80%
sure on that one), and several Stellar's Jays who seemed to be observing us
with as much curiosity as we had in them.
