[Birdtalk] Turkey Vulture in SLC

I just saw two TV's circling over my house (approx 2500 East 3600 South,
Salt Lake County) and then they lit in a set of tall pine trees in our
backyard. One of the birds was missing a single wing flight feather on
its right wing, roughly where primary and secondary feathers meet.
(Just in case any of you've seen the same pair...)

This establishes a pattern. For the past several springs (and autumn
for that matter) I have seen two or sometimes three TVs circle and land
in the same set of tall pine trees, shortly before dusk. They don't
stay in the area for more than a couple of days and then I don't see
them again. It's as if the set of tall pines is a favorite stop-over
for them in their annual migration.
