Hi,
Looking at the Sibley guide, I would claim that this is a third winter Thayer's Gull. Do you agree?

I saw the bird at Moraine State Park, Pennsylvania. He/she was all alone, without a friend in the world. I think it lost the ocean. They are rarely seen inland. It wasn't very shy.
If you zoom in on it's eyes, you see a bit of red and yellow (poor resolution).
Note the black ring around the bill, as a juvenile thayer's has. The wing color is quite pale. The wing tips have pale tan fringes.
Whatcha think?
Thanks
Doug Roberts
