[Birdtalk] Red-breasted Mergansers FYI

I was on the south and west side of Willard Bay this morning. I saw five different flocks of Red-breasted Mergansers flying north into a terrible head wind.   The flocks ranged  from five to twelve birds.  There was also four birds resting on the pond on the west side of the dike right after you cross the channel and turn north.  The Red-breasts are going through...today.  I did not see any Common Mergansers.  I think I'll go back out there.
