I'm back in Moab and our yard got about 4-6 inches overnight! Heard a lot of
noise outside so went to check it out and a big flock (150) of Robins was
moving through accompanied by some Starlings, a small flock of Western
Bluebirds, and a new yard bird: Yellow-rumped Warblers (5). A Cooper's Hawk
was nearby.
Does anybody know if the YRWAs are unusual for this time of year in the
eastern part of the state? I know they could be found year-round in Logan,
but I wonder about food sources... Juniper berries are plentiful around here
I guess.
Another note: our yard Western Meadowlark was been EXTREMELY loud and vocal
this morning. I forgot the volume these guys are capable of!
Good birding!
