This morning my wife and I found two Long-billed Curlews just west of the Benson Marina, 41⁰ 47.195' W 111⁰ 57.822'. We were unable to locate the Osprey that was reported yesterday at the marina, but we did see some California Quail near the parking lot. Other birds at the Marina include Double-crested Cormorant, Clark's Grebe, American Coot, and Red-breasted Merganser. We saw a Swainson's Hawk on a pole near the Benson Oxbow. At Sue's Pond there was a male Ruddy Duck, several male Buffleheads doing their best to impress the female Buffleheads, several Lesser Scaup, and the usual birds. I did see one black headed gull flying over the pond, which I assume was a Franklin's Gull.
