Subject: Antelope Island State Park's first Bioblitz
Hello Everyone,
First let me start by recognizing the great wealth of knowledge found in the all of you. I am requesting your consideration of a rather indepth project that Utah State Park's is bringing online for May 8 and 9, 2009. We will be conducting our first ever Bioblitz.
A Bioblitz is a 24-hour survey for all life within a defined area. I am hoping to have quite a few research groups to conduct on-the-ground surveys. The shifts will rotate so that no group will be conducting surveys for the entire 24 hours. This Bioblitz will take place at Antelope Island State Park. To better understand what will be happening, I have included a few links to short video clips on Bioblitz and Biodiversity.
I am hoping to reach as many scientists, professors, graduate students, biologists, environmental educators, and interested citizens as possible. If you can think of anyone that might have an interest in such an event, please forward this information to them. If you find yourself interested and willing, please email me to confirm.
