Message: This message is follow up information on a posting regarding a dead bird hotline in Idaho.
The UDWR (along with every state in the nation) is also engaged in similar monitoring programs. I would like to refer you to the Divisions website. You can navigate there under the menu on the left for conservation > wildlife diseases > avian influenza, or here is the address:
http://wildlife.utah.gov/diseases/avian_influenza.php
This site contains some information about the disease and about what is being done about it. It also has a link for an online report form, I suggest looking at it because it asks for a lot of information and the most you could supply the more helpful. You can also report any findings of dead birds by calling the wildlife disease coordinator at the Salt Lake City office, or any of the regional offices (contact info also on the site).
Thank you,
Adam Brewerton
