The Utah County Birders enjoyed excellent weather today as we visited
Mona, Mona reservoir, Goshen canyon, Elberta, Goshen, and Genola.
Between dodging orange-clad deer hunters and camo-clad duck hunters, we
still managed to see a few birds. Including a recon trip I made to the
area yesterday, the following were observed:

- an osprey was seen yesterday at Burriston ponds
- a merlin was spotted this morning on Church Farm property in Elberta
- a very large flock of 1-200 American white pelicans was observed
soaring several miles south of Elberta, above the hills that form the
northern border of Dog Valley
- a very uncooperative common loon was spotted - between frequent dives
- this morning on Mona Reservoir
- a Lincoln's sparrow was found in the dense understory along the Genola
Warm Springs road

My thanks to all who participated!
