I wanted to bird higher elevations before too much snow fell. Silver lake
was a bit snowy with about 2-3 inches on the ground. It was very cold, so
if anyone is headed up the canyons, I suggest to start taking some winter
gear. It was very birdy today. Not much diversity, but what I saw, I saw
in high numbers. Birds were:
Silver Lake: Mallard, Stellar's Jay, Clark's Nutcracker, Black-Billed
Magpie, Mountain Chickadee, Red-Breasted Nuthatch, American Robin, Dark-Eyed
Junco, Pine Siskin.
Spruce's Campground: Red-Naped Sapsucker (1), Stellar's Jay, Clark's
Nutcracker, Mountain Chickadee, Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet,
Dark-Eyed Junco.
They were all good birds for me.
