Had a fun day of birding today. I braved the rain & hunters at Farmington
Bay. Here's my list:
Farmington Bay & Glover Ponds: Gadwall (thousands), American Wigeon,
Mallard, Northern Shoveler, Redhead (only 2), Ruddy Ducks (5), Pied-Billed
Grebe, Western Grebe (1), White-Faced Ibis (2), American Kestrel, Coots,
Killdeer, Ring-Billed Gulls, California Gulls, Rock Pigeons, Northern
Flicker, Black-Billed Magpie, Marsh Wren (1), Starlings, Red-Winged
Blackbirds, Western Meadowlark, Brewer's Blackbird.
Antelope Island Causway: Northern Shoveler, Canada Goose, Eared Grebe,
American Kestrel, American Avocet, Killdeer, Franklin's Gull (10 or so
before the first bridge. Seem late), Ring-Billed Gull, California Gull,
SABINES GULL (near 2nd bridge), Common Raven, Starling, AMERICAN PIPIT
(100's along causway), Western Meadowlark.
