Hi Folks -

Just want to let you know that the Salt Lake Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for Saturday, December 20th. Our rallying cry this year is 109 in 109 - that's 109 species in the 109th annual CBC. So...we need your help!

Teams will be determined prior to count day and starting times will be at the discretion of team captains. Our potluck social with team reports, count tally and door prizes will be held at The Chase Mill in Liberty Park beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The first way you can participate is by being a member of a count team in the field. If you are unable to do this and your home is located inside the count circle, you can be a feeder watcher.

Would the team captains from last year please let me know if you can cover the same areas for the upcoming count.

1 (Bountiful) - Tim Avery
2 & 16 (City Creek Canyon and Capitol Hill) - Jack Skalicky
3 (Avenues) - Earle and Linda Bevins
4 & 5 (U of U and Red Butte) - Ed Leite
6 (East Bench) - Hugh Gillilan
7 (Emigration Canyon) - Jeanne LeBer and Ray Smith
8 (Parley's Nature Area and Parks) - Deedee O'Brien
9 (Upper Millcreek) - Jerry Liguori
10 (Southeast Circle) - Steve Carr
11 (Southwest Circle) - Angie Branch
12 (West Circle) - June Ryburn
13 (Airport) - Colby Neuman
14 (Lower Jordan River) - Bob Huntington
15 (Northwest Circle) - Jeff Smith and Hawkwatch
17 (City Center) - ???????

I desperately need a team captain for the City Center quadrant! Let me know if you can help.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to participate in the count and if you have a preferred team assignment. I will do my best to accommodate your wishes. I also need a head count for the social.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact me at 801-272-2755 or pinkstring at xmission.com

Everyone is welcome - join us, won't you.

Pomera
