This morning I birded Steel Canyon, north of Clarkston, UT. Along the dirt roads going north from Clarkston (driving past the cemetery) I saw several Grasshopper Sparrows and lots of Vesper Sparrows. In Steel Canyon I saw and heard Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Dusky Flycatcher, Western Wood Peewee, Green-tailed Towhee, Red-napped Sapsucker, Yellow Warblers, Chipping Sparrows, Dark-eyed Junco, Cassin Finch, House Wren, and Western Tanager. I drove back via Mendon Road (between Logan and Mendon) and saw a Bobolink sitting on a fence in fields north and east of the Logan River bridge on Mendon Road. They are are the same area where they are seen every year.
Thanks.
Buck Russell
