What fun birds you get in your yard!!! What can I do to get the grossbeaks
and pine siskins to come to my yard? I spread wild bird seed with a
healthy addition of black oil sunflower seed on the platform feeder I use
(actually, it's an old work table we set under the crab apple tree). The
Lazulis just don't come here at all -- probably to far away from their
habitat and maybe that's the deal with the grossbeaks, too.
The birds that fock to my feeder are Red-winged black birds, house sparrows,
house finches (have never seen a cassins), american gold finches, white
crowned sparrows, black-capped chickadees and, if I'm lucky, song
sparrows. Magpies, robins, starlings (which I hate) and assorted raptors
also fly through my yard, but don't feed at the feeder, although, the
magpies really loved my suet feeders during the winter.
