[Birdtalk] Playing catchup - Farmington Bay yesterday, Friday

Visited Farmington Bay yesterday, Friday, 28 Mar 2008.  The Cackling Canada Goose was still there in the "pasture" south of Glover Lane and east of the Visitor Center entrance road.  Hundreds of American Widgeon, but no Eurasian Widgeon.  Maybe next year.  Also saw my first Eared Grebe of the year.  Here is the list:

Tundra Swan (7) Canada Goose (50+), Cackling Canada Goose (1), Gadwall (24+), American Widgeon (200+), Mallard (24+), Cinnamon Teal (7), Northern Shoveler (24+), Northern Pintail (24+), Green-winged Teal (9), Canvasback (24+), Redhead (12+), Ring-necked Duck (5), Lesser Scaup (12+), Bufflehead (5), Common Goldeneye (12+), Eared Grebe (3), American White Pelican (5), Double-crested Cormorant (3), Great Blue Heron (15), Red-tailed Hawk (2), American Kestrel (3), American Coot (50+), Killdeer (3), American Avocet (12+), Greater Yellowlegs (1), California Gull (50+), Ring-billed Gull (5), Black-billed Magpie (5), Tree Swallow (25+), American Robin (5), European Starling (50+), Red-winged Blackbird (25+), Western Meadowlark (3), Brewer's blackbird (5), Yellow-headed Blackbird (12), and House Finch (7).
