I drove out to the Corinne area in Box Elder County today - there were a few snow geese in the fields across from the Walmart Distribution Center along Hwy. 83, and the road that goes west of Corinne. But the birds were WAY out there - really hard to see.
I drove farther west along Hwy. 83 and found fields full of tundra swans, with many Canada geese too, on the north side of the road. Gravel trucks are hauling, almost bumper to bumper, along the 6800 West Iowa String Road (that goes to Salt Creek WMA), heading for the Proctor & Gamble building site. I suggest avoiding this road during the daytime - road is rough - trucks are unrelenting!
I saw more birds by continuing on Hwy. 83 to the next road that goes east (7600 West) and driving that road instead. I counted 1100 - 1200 tundra swans total in the area.
