[Birdtalk] Vesper Sparrows and Cinammon Teal

I've seen vespers in the late winter out in the field - VERY rarely, but I've seen them - that's very possibly what you saw. There are cinammon teal at Farmington Bay and other areas already as well. The first week of February I found two female mountain bluebirds in the "natural" park just behind Ensign School on 11th Avenue in SLC. I was very surprised by how early they were and that they were basically in the Avenues. In the end, I'd say "yes" to vesper.
