Craig Fosdick and I hiked around Tony Grove and toward Naomi Peak on
Saturday. Our highlights included a Hairy Woodpecker and Williamson's
Sapsucker visiting nest cavities and a Rock Wren looking quite out of
place singing from about 20 or 30 feet up in the top of an old pine
snag. One notable miss was no Purple Martins at the gravel pit on the
way up (but perhaps we were looking in the wrong spot - neither of us
have been to this colony before). Here is our complete list for the
hike, generated by Ebird.
