Thanks to everyone who responded to my E-mail. So it appears I misidentified a Wilson;s Snipe Winnow for a Boreal Owl. I never would have known if I hadn't had asked you guys. I have never heard a Snipe winnow before, that I knew off, only there flush call. That explanes why it seemed to be moving while singing. I have heard a similar call from deep timber in the Uintas that might have been Boreal Owls, and even caught glimpes of them in the trees. Do Snipes go into trees? That would be very un-shorebird like. Its always good to be humbled by those with more experience. I will have to go back and try and find some Boreals to compare there call.
Thanks
