Tim,

I hear ya - and absolutely understand.  You're right.

I asked Ray if he could afford to offer a stipend for images, and he said
no...that the paper is letting 35 people "go", so they're really
down-sizing, and no budget to pay for images.  He said he could send a
photographer out to the refuge to take some shots, and I encouraged him to
do so.  So, we'll see.

My thinking, in asking for images to be donated, is that for those wildlife
photographers who might be interested, it just gets their name out there.
And then I know that we'll have high quality images to support a story
about Utah birds and birding spots.

Of course, I completely understand if photographers do not wish to offer
use of their images.  All I wanted to do was ask.  Certainly, my feelings
aren't hurt if the answer is no.
