Hi Betsy,
I, too, acquired a copy of the new Smithsonian Field Guide to the Birds of
North America. Of course the debate has been about photos vs. drawings as
to which guide may be preferred. There is another new guide outNational
Wildlife Federation Field Guide to Birds of North America by Edward
Brinkley. And, to add more field guides to your bookshelves this fall look
for the Western and Eastern versions (two separate books) of the National
Geo and Peterson¹s will be coming out as a single book combining the Eastern
and Western guides.
