After reading Kris's post about the ABA rules I ended up on the ABA site
(http://www.americanbirding.org) and after a while ended up on the page
about this years ABA convention being held at Snowbird. I was a little
surprised reading the information in the field trip lists and am wondering
what some guests may think when they arent seeing, "Northern Waterthrush,
MacGillivray's, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Townsend's, Wilson's or
Orange-crowned Warblers" at Garr Ranch the last week in June... Or my
personal favorite, "possible Solitary and Stilt Sandpiper) at Kennecott's
ISSR. These are just a couple pieces of mis-information that makes me
wonder, who is fact checking stuff like this? A simple email to any number
of people in Utah would confirm that Garr Ranch is far from a migrant trap
in late June, and although the occasional Solitary Sandpiper may hang around
in the summer, the nearest Stilt Sandpipers are well over a 1,000 miles
north breeding on the northern edge of Canada...

Call me a stickler, but there definitely could have been better descriptions
of Utah specialties that will be seen on many of the field trips. Now I'll
bite my tongue when someone finds a Stilt Sandpiper in late June ;)

They did get one thing right for sure, that http://www.utahbirds.org, is one
of the finest state birding resources in the nation! Nice work Milt!

Good Birding
