I took a nice hike through the haunting stretches of Aspens and Conifers in
Lamb's Canyon last night - accessible at an exit just past the East Canyon
exit as you head East through Parley's Canyon on I-80. I made it almost to
the pass but turned back when the mud and snow became too messy - but it
really is a beautiful hike and I highly recommend it. There were SWAINSONS
THRUSHES, WARBLING VIREOS, and a lone RED BREASTED NUTHATCH that I saw.
Complete list below - I didn't ID that much, but I'd imagine there are
several more surprises hidden there. I may try an owling venture one of
these nights.
Location: Lamb's Canyon
Observation date: 6/9/08
Number of species: 7
Broad-tailed Hummingbird 3
Warbling Vireo 6
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Swainson's Thrush 5
American Robin 10
Spotted Towhee 1
Dark-eyed Junco 2
