[Birdtalk] Provo River

Had an opportunity to float the Provo River yesterday with a youth group.
No reason I should be surprised--knowing that almost all birds will eat bugs on any given day; but it almost seemed out of character to see Bohemian Waxwings flitting about snatching bugs out of the air in the calm and serene places on the river. Yellow Warblers doing the same thing, perhaps in greater numbers. Even a Black-Chinned Hummingbird joined in the fly-catching. Several LBJ (insert name of Sparrow) Sparrows were going at it as well.

What a fun river for rafting! I highly recommend it. See rafting company adjacent to the Vivian Park. They've got a six-mile float trip for sale. Cheap too. :)
