I went to Antelope Island this morning in hopes of getting a Grasshopper Sparrow, as I haven't seen one yet this year. I wasn't disappointed and saw two. As you can imagine being July the birding wasn't exactly the best, but I did see some good birds with two, for me, new Garr Ranch birds - a Fox Sparrow at the spring house and a pair of Ash-throated Flycatchers. Here is the rest, with 33 species seen:

Along the Causeway

Eared Grebe - 100's (I am not familiar with the plumage transition of juvenile birds or to winter plumage, but there were five birds that were all white, a "snow" white, with a little dark flecking on the crown. They really stood out.)
Double-crested Cormorant - 2
Willet - 100's
American Avocet - 100's
Marbled Godwit - 7
Long-billed Curlew - 1
Greater Yellowlegs - 2
Wilson's Phalarope - 3
California gull - 100's
Franklin Gull - 30+
Barn Swallow - 24+

Between the Causeway and Garr Ranch

Northern Harrier - 1
Chukar - 4 (mother and chicks)
Western Flycatcher - 1
Loggerhead Shrike - 2
Brewer's Sparrow - 3
Grasshopper Sparrow - 2
Brown-headed Cowbird - 2
Western Meadowlark - 12+
Common Raven - 9+

Garr Ranch

Mallard - 1
Mourning Dove - 5+
Ash-throated Flycatcher -2
Western Flycatcher - 2
Barn Swallow - 12+
Cliff Swallow - 6+
Warbling Verio - 1
American Robin - 6
Yellow Warbler - 1
European Starling- 12+
Fox Sparrow - 1
Song Sparrow - 1, in the Russian Olive "seep" south of the ranch
House Finch - 2
American Gold Finch - 3

Thanks,

Stephen
Red-winged Blackbird - 6+
Black-billed Magpie - 1
