[Birdtalk] Blue Grosbeak in Logan

Today I saw a pair (one male and one female) of BLUE GROSBEAKS in Logan.
I've missed this species several times at the "regular" spot in Cache
County, in Petersboro, so it was a nice surprise to find a pair so close
to home.  They were just south of the Logan Landfill, near the compost
piles.  Blue Grosbeaks are relatively common elsewhere in Utah but are
considered only "occassional" this far north, according to the
Bridgerland Audubon Society checklist.  I also stopped by the ponds west
of the landfill, but saw no new shorebirds.  In fact, the two best
shorebird ponds there are now almost completely dry.
