[Birdtalk] Birds in Deseret News today

I guess the article shows that along with a lack of funds to buy photographs, budget short falls are hampering the use of fact checkers and resources for articles.

Pine and Evening Groabeaks don't occur here but Rose-berated do... Funny they're the rarest of the lot in Utah!

Cardinals and Blue Jays are here too... I mean they are but come on.

And how about flocks of Red Phalaropes? I would love to see these flocks pour in!

It was nice that they tried to pull in info from the Great Backyard Bird Count, but why not share useful local information? Its out there and easily accessible.

It's sad when not only the TV news spews flawed stories out every night, but print news produces work of this caliber about something as easy to find information about as birds and birding.

Cheers

Tim

The Deseret News article Betsy mentioned is available online:

To see all the bird photos that go with the story, you have to click on the "GALLERY (12 photos)" link under the photo of the Black-headed Grosbeak.
