Eric,
Lucky you! I had a Northern Shrike visit my yard earlier this month. It
appeared for 2 days in a row, then disappeared. I've been hoping to see him
again, but no such luck.
I also have a new yard bird -- a SONG SPARROW. it comes in with all the
other sparrows and finches to dine at my table in the back yard. I now
have 11 regular appearing species:
House Sparrows (yip ee.)
House Finches
American Goldfinches
White-crowned Sparrows
Black-capped Chickadees
Song Sparrow
RedWingd Blackbirds
Dark-eyed Juncos (slate and Oregon races)
Downy woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Mourning Doves
On Saturday, I believe there were well over 100 birds feasting in my yard!
Here are some pictures I took at various times of the birdie feast in my
back yard. http://picasaweb.google.com/connie.mcmanus/WinterBirds04 bon
apetit!
