It was slow but lovely birding around the south end of Utah county this
afternoon. I didn't see anything rare, but a few notable sightings include:

- 43 bohemian waxwings in Provo, along with 4 cedar waxwings and 17
American robins, all in the same tree
- a pair of American dippers enjoying the water in the Provo river,
again in Provo
- a rough-legged hawk near the Salem sewage treatment plant, with a
red-tailed hawk and an American kestrel also in the vicinity
- six American tree sparrows feeding along side a road just east of
Swede's lane
- a barn owl, obviously hungry, out prowling the fields a few minutes
before sunset near the game club in Spanish Fork

I also saw mountain goats, elk, and mule deer up Provo Canyon and South
Fork.
