I had another exciting day of bird watching. For those who are interested
in knowing, I have submitted my report to the birdsource GBYBC site.

The mixdown is...
Mallards 4
Red-tial Hawks 4
Rough-legged hawks 6
Horned Larks 188
Loggerhead shrike 1
Western Meadow Larks 5
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1
California Gulls 3

Yesterday, I saw a Southwest variant Song Sparrow. If anyone is interested
in trying to find it, come up to Cache Valley. Coming from the North on US
89, watch for Ted's Gas and Gab -- it will be on your left. About 100 ft or
so before Ted's is a road the runs due west. Make a Right Turn on that
road. Go straight -- no turns at all -- to the end of the road -- my guess
is about 1 mile or so. There is a creek that runs under the road and a big
turn-around area. On one side is a hay stack and on the other is a cluster
of willows growing along the creek. I first saw the SOSP foraging in the
hay, but they seem to hang out mostly in the willows. I expect you might
also see some wading birds or ducks in this creek, too. I was a little
surprised (and dismayed) that there weren't any when I was there. anyway,
that's the place.

happy bird-day to you!
