Thanks to Rick for posting about the EASTERN PHOEBE that was present
at Lytle this morning near the pond on the west side of the wash. The
bird was last seen over the school bus in the creek. Rick cam out to
Lytle later in the day and we were unable to locate the bird.

There was also a neat looking FERRUGINOUS HAWK in the orchard both
Friday night and this morning.

Both the "Gilded-type" Flicker and the adult male Yellow-shafted
FLicker were seen near the parking area.

Other oddities on Friday and Saturday at Lytle included:

Canada Goose (flyover last night)
Wood Duck (8 on the west pond)
Townsend's Solitaire
Red Crossbill
Cassin's Finch
Brown Creeper
Golden-crowned Kinglet
A hybrid Sapsucker RNxRB

I also checked out Gunlock Reservoir... which was dead.

A run up to Beryl Junction produced the following Raptors:

2 Bald Eagle
3 Red-tailed Hawk
5 Ferruginous Hawk
1 Rough-legged Hawk
1 Prairie Falcon

also

1,000 American Crow
200 Common Raven

Pictures and more to come after the weekend is over.

Good Birding

Tim
