[Birdtalk] Glaucous winged gulls question

I enjoyed Rick's picture of the immature Glaucous winged gull. My question
is -- what do these gulls look like in flight - are there any markings like
most gulls have or are they a solid white or light gray? I saw some gulls,
last winter I think, that were all white underneath. They were the same
white as the new snow that had fallen, at least as seen in flight. They were
beautiful. I have always wondered what kind of gulls those were. If
anyone is interested, I saw them as I was driving along the road that goes
by 20/20 ponds in College Ward (Cache Co.) and there were about 10 of them.
thnks
