Well, what did Santa bring all you good birders? After a magnificent snow
storm, I got a Gray-crowned rosy-finch coming to my feeder today. Follow
the link to the photos.

There is also a persistent visit from pheasants, a couple of pine siskins
and a very aggressive song sparrow. I got some video of him and the little
Dark-Eyed Junco I call Wonkie (he has a funky wing feather on his left wing
that's all out of place. He came to my feeder last year, too). My husband
Bill and I have named the Song Sparrow "Ahrnold" or the "SOSPinator." He
goes out of his way to chase away other birds that come to the feeder,
espsecially another little Song Sparrow. Arnold flew halfway across the
yard to chase off the other SOSP as soon as it landed on the feeding table.
sheesh! Anyone need a guard sparrow?? I'm working on the video of Wonkie
and Arnold and will let you know when it's ready for your viewing pleasure.
Anyway, I hope you all had as great a Christmas as I had. Sorry to see it
come to an end.
Love the snow and the birds!
