So I decided that since I'm apparently the only person in the state who hasn't seen a Merlin yet this winter I would try my luck. First I went to the SLC Cemetery in the snow and saw nothing except B.C. Chickadees and N.Flickers. No Nuthatches, Creepers or Merlins. Then I decided the Airport might be a good place because I have seen them out there before, and I might be able to see a Short-Eared Owl too, but it was dead, except for 1 N. Harrier, 2 Red-Tailed Hawks, but not even a Kestrel? I did see an adult light morph FERRUGINOUS HAWK for the 3rd time in 2 weeks at the same place, right near were 2100N turns to the south toward the control tower. I got a not so good photo of it. see it at www.flickr.com/photos/bryanto/3129066571/
