[Birdtalk] Snow

The visiting birds went through 8 pounds of seed mix yesterday. It was
fantastic. I had the standard visitors for my neighborhood: sparrows,
house finches, Oregon Juncos, black-capped chickadees, two pair of Western
Scrub Jays, and a huge covey of quail. My husband got a kick out of seeing
the quail disappear in the snow up to their necks. He shoveled a path
across the lawn beneath the trees where my feeders hang, and got a bigger
kick out of watching the quail and juncos as they scratched and pecked.
Good day!
