Is it unusual to see Western Grebe's this time of year?

Location: Bountiful Ponds
Observation date: 12/12/08
Notes: While driving along access road to Bountiful Pond, I saw a Bald Eagle eating a duck. Later in same area, I saw a N. Harrier eating a mouse. Great day to be higher in the food chain. The Western Grebe pair were in Bountiful Pond. This area is in the Legacy Nature Preserve, west of the new Legacy Highway.
