Hi Birder Buddies,

I spent the afternoon at Farmington Bay. It was fun to discover BUFFLEHEADs again. They sure stand out in the sunshine, with the stark contrast of white on black.

I also discovered that European Widgeons look a lot like Redheads. I think what I saw was Redheads.

Observation date:     12/2/08
Notes:     There were 10's of 1000's of birds on the water today. I only reported on birds close enough identify. You could multiply by at least 10 or 20 to get an estimate of the numbers of ducks on the bay. I also saw 60 Tundra Swan flying, but couldn't be sure of identificaton. Also saw 6 Scaup, but were they Lesser or Greater?
