Hi,
I saw a MERLIN again, at Garr Ranch. See below.
At Bridger Bay (where swimming beach is), at the north end of Antelope Island, I estimated 70,000 Northern Shovelers, or something, but it would be hard to prove without an airplane. Maybe other species were present. They were grouping like the more visible and identifiable flocks of Shovelers floating near the causeway. Anyway, lots of birds (or tumbleweeds) out there! I didn't report them to ebird because I am not sure. Maybe better spotting scopes could resolve them.
The Pipits were fun to study.
