I'm not at all surprised by the research that suggests that crows can recognize human faces.
Years ago I used to set out all kinds of tasty treats for crows. They would gather and watch me toss the treats into the back yard and then fly down and eat their treats when I went back inside. Some adult crows even brought along their young.
Whenever I would leave the house to go for a walk, crows would materialize from out of nowhere and follow me. They did not do this when anyone else in the household left the house.
