I took up birding just a few years ago, and earlier this month I saw a house
wren at Sugarhouse Park(Salt Lake City). Nothing extraordinary, but it was
my seventieth bird at this location. I found it with help from an individual
from New England who heard its voice from a stretch of the park that I don't
usually visit. She noticed my bins and was happy to lead me to the bird.

Here is a link to a shot of a royal
tern(http://flickr.com/photos/35312474@N00/2730698632/in/photostream/) in
Mexico and a pair of caspian tern at Lee
Kay(http://flickr.com/photos/35312474@N00/2759910490/in/photostream/) for
comparison.

A rose-breasted grosbeak has visited my feeder at least a couple of times
beginning in May, I recorded these sightings on eBird and each time it
appeared on the "notable US eBird sightings" Google gadget.

The American Bird Conservancy provides an easy way to write your
congressional representative and urge them to support BIPARTISAN legislation
to better fund efforts to protect migratory birds. I urge you to use this
link
(http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5400/t/2205/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=284)
and support the effort.

I hope each of the subjects presented in this post are appropriate for this
list-serve.
