A clarification. If Jeff is referring to my posting about other birding lists banning people who send posts like the one Mark Stackhouse sent, it wasn't a rant, and it wasn't sarcasm. I intended it to say that I find it refreshing that Birdtalk isn't as rigid as some of the other lists I am on. That's what I meant when I said "Viva la difference".

I've been nearly kicked off two lists for posting notes that seemed on-topic to me. It's good to see a list that's more open.

Maybe it's time for someone to remind us - it would appear that what you say is not true since from my observation there appear to be two very divided opinions about what is acceptable.
