Ben,
There have been many Black-crowned Night Herons around Glover Ponds @ Farmington Bay. If you drive down the road to the Learning Center they have been in the reeds on the West Side of the road. Also check on the West side of the parking lot.

Subject: [Birdtalk] Great-tailed Grackles at Kaysville Ponds

I thought I would pass along that I have seen several Great-tailed
Grackles at the Kaysville Ponds the last few weeks. They usually hang
out on the northern island in the central pond. That is the pond that
is west of the gated culvert. They are very vocal and hard to miss if
you are at the ponds, but I have also seen them from the freeway too.

On another note, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on seeing
Black-crowned Night-Herons in Davis County. I thought that I would
just see one by now this year, but I haven't seen any so far. Any tips
  would be appreciated.

  Thanks,
  Ben
