This past sunday and monday I went out to Fish Springs NWR just to enjoy the nice weather and do some birding. Nothing rare or unusual to report, except the lack of many species I would normally see by this time of year, but everything else seems to be running late, so why not the birds too. I saw my first White-faced Ibis, Black-necked Stilt, Night Herons, Longbilled? Dowitchers, Willet, Longbilled Curlew, and Marbled Godwits of the year. But numbers were very low, just a few of each, except for Eared Grebes and a Buzillion Coots. It was very windy so I didn't see as much as I otherwise could have. Huge sand/salt storms because of the wind too, which was kind of spooky.
Good Birding
