Davis County:
-- Three (3) RED PHALAROPE were reported by Tim Avery on Sunday, September 23rd,
at the 1st bridge between MM4 and 5 on the north side of AIC.
-- An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was reported by Joel and Kathy Beyer on Sunday,
September 23rd, at the 1st bridge between MM4 and 5 on the north side of AIC.
-- A juvenile GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Joel and Kathy Beyer as
well as Kris Purdy on Sunday, September 23rd, at Garr Ranch in the large brush
pile southeast of the ranch house.
-- Several PECTORAL SANDPIPER were reported by the Beyer's as well as Tim Avery
on Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd and 23rd, between MM4 and 6 on the north
side of AIC.
-- Two (2) RED KNOT were reported by Jooel and Kathy Beyer on Saturday,
September 22nd, on the north side of AIC on the mudflats.
-- Three (3) SABINE'S GULLS were reported by Carol Gwynn on Saturday, September
29th, along the AIC between MM3 and 4. Carol reports that some British birders
also saw two more along the causeway.
-- A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported by Aaron and Arnold Smith on Tuesday,
September 26th, at Garr Ranch.
-- An adult male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Aaron and Arnold Smith
on Tuesday, September 26th, at Garr Ranch east of the Spring House.
Morgan County:
-- A juvenile GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues to be seen at the home of Weston
Smith in Croydon. The bird was most recently reported on Sunday, September

Salt Lake County:
-- A juvenile PARASITIC JAEGER was reported by Colby Neuman, on Tuesday,
September 25th, 2-3 miles north of GSL State Park on the lake. Colby viewed
the bird as it passed a boat he was on chasing a gull. Tim Avery was able to
locate the bird from the marina, but it never came closer than 800 yards to the
south shore.
-- A juvenile AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was reported by Tim Avery on Monday,
September 24th, on a private wetland on the south shore of the GSL.
-- Three (3) SABINE'S GULL were reported by Colby Neuman and Tim Avery on
Sunday, September 23rd on Lee's Creek near Saltair.
-- An adult WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was reported by Tim Avery on Monday,
September 24th, at the Salt Lake International Center, north of the Compeq
building.
Washington County:
-- A TENNESSEE WARBLER was reported by Rick Fridell as part of the WFO Field
trip, on Thursday, September 27th at Lytle Ranch. The bird was originally in
the blackberry bush on the edge of the orchard.
-- A RED-BREASTED SASPUCKER was reported by Rick Fridell as part of the WFO
Field trip, on Thursday, September 27th at Lytle Ranch. The bird was initially
seen in the middle of the orchard.

Oct 3rd (Wed): Great Salt Lake Audubon Field Trip - MOUNTAIN DELL RECREATION
AREA, PARLEY'S CANYON - Leader: Jack Clark - Come and join us for our monthly
bird survey. We'll meet by 8:00am in the South-East corner of the Shopko
Parking lot in Sugarhouse OR 8:15am at the Clubhouse at Mountain Dell for a
morning of birding. Call Jack (255-7989) if you plan to attend.
Oct 3rd (Wed): Wasatch Audubon Society Bird Walk - Willard Bay: Meet at
McDonalds (1838 W 2700 N, Farr West east of I-15 exit #349) at 7:45 for
breakfast or at 8:15 to carpool.
Oct 6th (Sat): Great Salt Lake Audubon Field Trip - CLEANING BLUEBIRD BOXES -
Leaders: Jeanne LeBer and Ray Smith - Meet at the South-East corner of the
Shopko Parking lot in Sugarhouse by 8:00am, or at the Visitor Center in
Strawberry Valley by 9:30am. This is our Fall trip to clean our nesting boxes
in Strawberry Valley, an essential part of preparing the boxes for reuse by the
birds in the Spring. Bring gloves and lunch. GSLA will provide drinks. Dress
for possible cool weather. Call Jeanne or Ray at 801-532-7384 for details.
Oct 6th (Sat): Salt Lake Birders Field Trip - Utah Lake and Environs - Dave
Hanscom will lead us to Utah Lake, the Provo Airport Dike, River Lane, and
Lincoln Point. In the last few weeks there have been many reports of uncommon
and interesting birds seen in Utah County. Plan to meet at the Sugar House
Shopko, SE corner of the parking lot, at 8:00 a.m., and plan to return by
about 3:00 p.m. Bring lunch, snacks, and water, Notify Dave to let him know
you're coming - 435.649.3213.
Oct 10th (Wed): Wasatch Audubon Society Bird Walk - Birdsong Trail Area: Meet at
Dylans (12th & Monroe) at 8:00 for breakfast or at SW corner of Rainbow
Gardens parking lot at 8:45.
Oct 10th (Wed): Utah County Birders Meeting - Program TBA - Meet at 7:00 PM in
the Bean Museum Auditorium on the BYU Campus.
