With the excellent weather conditions, I decided to head out to the south shore
this morning and see what the winds might blow down the lake. I was thoroughly
disappointed with the species variety, and all in all, nothing out of the
ordinary was seen, despite 25-30 knot west and northwest winds howling the
entire time present. The gulls were moving constantly past the marina, heading
west. In the hour nearly a 1000 gulls passed the jetty and continued out of
sight. 1 Ring-billed and 1 Franklin's Gulls made up the rest of the mix. A
few shorebirds and ducks also flew by, but overall, it was pretty slow.
