Went around the Provo Airport Dike again this mornig. Highlights were 7
Orange-crowned Warblers, 2 Semipalmated Plovers, 15 Pectoral Sandpipers, 4
Least Sandpipers, 200 Dowitchers, 2 Merlin and a Common Tern.

The mud flat was drying quickly but over the last two weeks seems to be
filling back in. I hope it is there for our big sit on the 14th. Our
record Big Sit was the only other year we had a mud flat there during the
Sit.

Before the airport dike I was at River Lane during the height of the wind
storm. Not much along the road but I enjoyed walking the beach. I felt
like I was at the ocean. It was very windy. The lake had white-caps. The
teal skimming across the surface of the waves and the coots bobbing up then
disappearing behind waves in my imagination were Scoters. There were terns,
gulls, pelicans and a cormorant fighting the wind and a Harrier, which I
would usually characterize as floating around, was zooming around. The Tide
was even coming in. Water was filling onto dry low spots on the beach. I
stood on a slab of concrete as the 'tide' filled in around me.
